If I were called in
To instate a new currency
I should make use of love.

Going to the bank
Would entail an arithmetical
Withdrawing of papered affections.

My finance minister would be
A rose-coloured child, who instead
Of a suit donned a quiver of arrows.

And bankruptcy itself would
Connote nothing more than
An easily amendable state of
Romantic desolation.

After Philip Larkin's "Water"

Needless to say, the title is an 1984 homage - inappropriate, perhaps, since I dislike Orwell and his essentially anti-Latin "rules of writing", but I couldn't resist the temptation.

Take the concept as a parody of unions of nations tabling new currencies or no.
